Shouldn't the name from a "quick search" automatically populate the correct fields when you click "Add" after not finding a record?

During our General Sales 101 training session today with Devendra I noticed that when he did a quick search and no records were found he would click +Add and he had to retype the names he had just searched for. Shouldn't that be automatically be put into the correct fields? Thanks.
