We're starting to use special events quite a bit now for sending post and email invitations. One thing we've noticed is that the mailing process is missing the exclusion piece that Altru has in appeals. For example, we have several constituents with "do not mail" for their email addresses. If we invite them to an event and the invitation is sent via email, it will go ahead and send to that email address -- in spite of the do not mail. In cases where we add people one by one to an invitation, we would have to check each person to see their "do not mail" status. This is, of course, easier when we add multiple constituents via a query and can include that in the parameters.
