Smart fields should be available without the need for permission to be added.

Please consider removing or rethinking the process of granting permission for each Smart Fields

Granting permission for Smart Fields system roles is really cumbersome and not intuitive to the process. Once a new smart field is created, you will need to grant permissions to that smart field in the Smart Fields system role. This will allow anyone with the Smart Fields role to view/edit that smart field and see it on the constituent records and in query.

The problem with this is that it took Tech Support to tell us this needed to happen. It is not intuitive for users and adds a step to the process that is not in sequence to the creation of a smart field and could easily be forgotten. The smart fields role is not a common role for most users. Since this is a specialized role, users with this role should have the rights to all of them. If there is a confidential smart field, then a possible solution that goes in line with privacy would be to create a way for the admin to remove permission from specific Smart Fields one at a time. Smart fields should simply be available without the need for permission to be added.
