Would it be feasible to include an online feature to the volunteer section? For example:
The volunteer could sign in and add hours to their cart. Maybe blocks of time volunteering could be program events (with a price of $0.00)? If I set up a program called "Volunteering" with two start times (8am and 12pm) every day and volunteers could "buy" their volunteer hours. This would then be on their constituent record and we could run reports from it.
This is the main use that our volunteering program needs from Altru. We would like the volunteers to be able to sign in at a laptop, set-up at the entrance and easily record their own working hours.
What do you guys think, would my method work?
We are currently using a separate online volunteer program specifically so the volunteers can log their own hours. We would love to have this available through Altru, since we would have to transfer the information to have it available on the database.
