Altru needs to modify their reports so that they are usable during audits. As of right now we are unable to run a clean report out of Altru for merchandise during a specific time frame. It is very disappointing that this was not thought of when building the systems reporting features.

Our auditors would like to see reports that show the results of a Physical Inventory Count. This would show the inventory before and after the counts, and the variances between them.
For example - the auditors would like to see a report that shows the inventory value by department before and after the inventory counts and the variances between them. To accomplish this we run the Merchandise Inventory Report before we start the counts and export that to Excel. Then we run the report again after the counts and export it to Excel. Then we manipulate the data from those two reports to create this report.
Another example - the auditors would like to see a report that shows all the items that had a variance and the total cost of these variances. To accomplish this we use a query, export that data to Excel and manipulate the data there to create this report.
An example of a report that is not generating well for us is the merchandise activity report. Our auditors would like to see our inventory for FY14-15; the starting balance, what was sold, and what is left. There is no report that generates this information. As of right now, we have to manipulate data to get these numbers.
What specific information/format would be valuable for audit purposes? Is there a report that you currently used but is lacking or are you having to work in query today?
