It was a nice feature that existed in Raiser's Edge for instances where the incorrect record type was created. So based on a community post, I am creating this idea.

I hope this is in the works! We have membership programs set up for school and organizations, not beable to covert between the two is very frustrating! membership should have the capability to be for organizations as well. Its looks sloppy requiring them to use the last name field for their organization, and its A LOT of work!
I agree. I looks like this option has been quiet the last 2 years. We are new to Altru and had some mistakes in conversion and it would be great to change an I to an O and not have to transfer 20 years worth of revenue to the new record as suggested in help in section. Please make this change!
I would like to add that this would be great for adjusting memberships if they are accidentally entered under the primary contact instead of the organization.
I have a couple of profiles that were incorrectly set as 'Individual' or 'Group' that needed to be 'Organization' or visa versa! This would be very handy to have and not sure why this hasn't been implemented yet...
This is a standard feature in most databases. These sorts of roadblocks make it extremely difficult to clean up our database.
I agree -- it would be very nice. We just converted and the first indiividual that was an organization had 56 revenue lines to transfer. The second one had 93. Took a long, long time. I hate to see what the next one will bring! Or even a way to transfer all of the revenue from the one organization account to the individual account all at once.
