Limit Discounts to Specific Number of Transactions per Day

Altru needs the ability to limit discount use to a specific number of transactions per day.  This issue arose at my organization around membership discounts on online ticket purchases.  As it stands, our members get a certain number of tickets free each day depending on their membership level.  We have automatic discounts in place to apply the discounts on tickets when purchased online, however the member will get this discount every time if they create multiple transactions.  This is allowing for abuse of the member discounts.  Folks are figuring out that if they create multiple transactions, then they can get their discounts multiple times resulting in more free tickets than their membership allows.

We're in the same boat here. There is too much opportunity for abuse as well as members getting tickets for events and not showing up. For one event, we had over 1500 members get tickets online but only 700 actually came. We generally request members to register for limited capacity events by phone, which puts added strain on our Guest Services office.

7 years later and we're still having the same issue. Some of our members have figured out how to "game" the system, and while most folks are honest, those few are getting a significant amount of extra free tickets, and sometimes even taking up extra spaces in sold out events, locking out other members and the public from being able to book. A daily limit would shut down the vast majority of this behavior.
