After adding revenue that is tied to an appeal mailing in Altru it would be nice to have a field that outputs the letter a constituent received in relation to the appeal mailing tied to the revenue

One of my clients segments their constituents using the letter. So someone may get Letter A one mailing but, because their donation history changes, Letter B the next mailing. There's no easy way to see what letter each person received and, more importantly, report on the response rate for those segments. We could set each letter up as a mailing, but there are usually about 100 different segments for each mailing. And it's really hard to ensure that you only send one letter per household across mailings. (Whereas, with letters, it's easy.)
My solution right now is to set up an attribute for each mailing, with the mailing name in the Comment and the segment in the value field. That way I can download the data to Excel and merge it with the revenue data, matching based on a combined value of LookupID+Mailing (for revenue) and LookupID+Comment (for the letter). It's kind of a clunky solution but less time-consuming than multiple mailings.
