Lots of useful/necessary information is NOT available from the queries menus. Either they require server-side calculations that are more intense than Blackbaud is able to facilitate from the queries menu, or whatever the reason, some of these reports are necessary for daily/weekly/monthly operation.
OData comes on the scene to help us get easier access to the data provided by the queries menu, but the canned reports still work like they used to. We're experiencing a growing amount of user-based error because of this retrieval process.
These canned reports are also highly formatted excel files, which is not ideal for many areas of operation where this formatting simply gets in the way. OData access to the canned reports will decrease the user error from the retrieval process and user error from the file handling process as it can provide cleaner, direct access to our data.
