Altru Ideas

Remove Online Purchase Limit

Please remove the restriction that keeps customers from processing more than one transaction per ticketed event. On average, we get 2-3 calls per event from people who go online and buy tickets and ultimately end up needing more. However, when they return to our website to make a second online purchase, Altru prevents them from doing so and generates a nearly incomprehensible error message.

Totally concur with the commenters below.  This oversight leads to lost revenue and duplicates existing constituency records. And it reflects poorly on our organization.  Please fix!

I find it ridiculous that one person cannot make multiple ticket/other purchases for the same event online, i.e. when they are the type of people (or donors - or myself) who are trying to buy tickets for friends, or get more people to attend. This is a no-brainer. This glitch leads to any number of unwanted results. For example, many people may end up being frustrated and give up on the transaction the second time they try to purchase (which is not good when you are trying to earn revenue). Or, even if the purchaser figure out that the (inconvenient) workaround is to change one aspect of their name or address in order for the purchase to appear different in the system, that transaction ultimately leads to duplication or inaccurate information being uploaded to Altru. And therefore, we receive slightly different, yet duplicate constituent data as a result of multiple purchases that are not identical for the same customer. That doesn't help us when we're trying desperately to keep our constituent/attendee data clean enough in the first place! Please correct this issue ASAP.

This is terrible for our fundraising event. We have a lot of people who buy tickets and then end up wanting to buy more for friends, and can't. I don't even know how often is actually happens, only the times people call with the issue. So we're losing out on $ from those people who just give up.
