Merchandise Layaway

We would love to have a layaway option set up for merchandise items. We offer layaway with a 30% deposit on items over a certain value. Depending on the the value of the item terms vary between 3 - 6 months. Right now the only workaround is to set up a separate Layaway item. The issue with this is that without digging and doing a manual calculation there is no quick way to determine is a balance has been paid off. And it is not easy for general ticket sellers to manage at all.
