If a constituent uses her @gmail.com address to register for an event or buy a ticket online, that should become her new primary email address automatically. Otherwise, any follow-up communication will not go to that email address. I would much rather fix end-user errors like typos in an email than to have to constantly cross check the email someone used to register for an event and make sure that is now her primary email.
Any update on this??
Three years later, this would still be a huge win for data cleanup.
