Self-serve Kiosks / Improved Mobile Interface

Was just daydreaming right now....

With mobile coming to the forefront in the past few years, everything is pushing to become mobile friendly, and it has me thinking about 2 things in regards to Altru:

1) What if Altru became more mobile friendly? Even iOS friendly? What about an app? Perhaps the back-end of Altru severely limits these options, but the ability for a front desk to be set-up with a simplified touch interface for sales would be amazing and I believe really improve efficiency. Let's think big (in the ironic way one talks about moving to smaller screens).

2) Which is followed by, if one developed such an interface, why couldn't there be a way to set-up self-serve kiosks? If Altru became more iPad/mobile-friendly, then could it not also extend that simplified mobile interface to a customer-facing interface where our patrons could buy memberships or admissions when lines get long and they don't want to wait? Not necessarily meaning an app that patrons would download (they could always go to the website), but a way to set-up Altru for a kiosk-type scenario.

    THIS IS A GREAT IDEA!!  We have multiple POS and this would help immensely

    It would save a lot of labor hours if we had the option of ticketing kiosks.

    LOVE this idea... a lot of our events and programs we have people turn up on the door, so having tablet sales functionality would be amazing!
