acknowledgement name for specific gift

Can there be a way to choose the exact name for a specific gift/donation? This has been a challenge more recently with tribute gifts. A couple may want the donation to be from their family (The Jones Family) vs. a couple (Mr. and Mrs. Jones). Or an unmarried couple who have two separate records, wanting to keep some donations for the individual (Ms. Jane Doe) vs. a donation made by both (Ms. Jane Doe and Mr. John Smith).

Does anyone else have this problem?
