Having the ability to add a nickname in constituent files is wonderful as we have guests who go by their nicknames; however, when using daily sales or advance sales and we are given a nickname instead it is difficult to remember everyone's real name and, like someone said below, we look silly struggling to find someone simply because their nickname isn't searchable. Would love to see this feature added to daily sales and advanced as well!
This would be a great help for advanced sales and daily sales. We would love to see this happen.
I'd still love for this to be set up. The new update includes Alias, which excited me for a second before realizing that this is something we don't ever use, versus Nickname which is something we use A LOT. People like to provide one name for their records/payments but check in with a nickname, and it makes us look bad when we struggle to find them at the front desk because the nickname IS on the record, but isn't searchable.
I agree with Maya, having the ability to choose to include Alias\Nickname\Households\Fuzzy Name etc. in Daily\Advanced Sales the same way that we do with the Constituent search is what was ultimately being asked for when this Idea began to get traction. I see that there is an intended fix in store for ver. 4.97, lets hope that's what we get.
They rolled something very like this out, but instead of giving the Patron search the option to opt into and out of expanded search (turn on Alias and Nickname) they rolled it out as always on and it appear to be malfunctioning and including all fuzzy search results.
Obviously, I'd like the fuzzy results removed, but if they could have filter buttons for Nicknames and Aliases, this would be so much more functional for them. Then, they could turn those options on if they were having trouble looking someone up, but could leave it off to truncate results for other records. Please consider this as you're fixing the functionality!
I just wanted to make Blackbaud aware that is option is also needed in their Advanced Sales module.
