I thought I'd add some additional information about the feature you are asking about. My old system called it an "Open PLU" or a "Non-Inventory Item". Here is their description of this feature:
"The primary purpose of an Open PLU, or non-inventory item, is for ringing sales at POS by department or category, where the individual item is not being tracked. Open PLUs are considered non-inventory items as they do not have inventory on-hand values to be maintained. They are unique at POS because you can change the description and retail price at the time of sale. Open PLU items can have a fixed price if you like, but even with a fixed price, the price can still be changed at the time of sale."

It's wild to me that this isn't an option on any POS system in 2023. It's beyond time to add it.

This is a big oversight in the POS system. We need to be able to add last minute inventory items with variable prices, such as seasonal garden items, without having to enter go through the merchandise configuration process.

I have been in Financial Accounting for over 40 years and I am constantly amazed that even QuickBooks at $125 has this feature. And you are voting whether you should add it. Definitely a bunch of IT Individuals with no practical experience running the company. PLEASE ADD IT. It is not that hard.

We really need this feature in order to use our Altru POS for our annual arts festival. Right now, we will have to use quickbooks for the festival. Very disappointed that Altru does not offer this.
