Altru allows you to query raw data, however, it is not possible to create simple subtotals or totals or to create dynamic filtering. Everything has to be dumped into excel and then massaged from there and you have to edit the definitions of the query every time you run a date range report. I thought in one of my conversations with your development team that you were actively looking for a way to export directly to pre-made report definitions or something.  And if not, please tell us when you are going to give Altru users a report writing solution. Or at the very least, provide some info on exporting from Altru in a way that would allow us to bring data into a stand alone report writer such as Crystal Reports, for instance.
