Accept Reloadable Gift Cards as a Payment Type
Altru does not accept reloadable gift cards as a payment type. You must purchase a separate terminal to track balances with an outside merchant provider. Our existing Counterpoint software accepts cards and is able to track balances with these types of cards. It would be nice to see Altru accept these types of cards or offer one themselves to use with Altru. Paper gift certificates are old news...

Having an Altru integrated gift card system would be incredibly convenient and would simplify procedures for all of our frontline workers. It would also simplify things in the back office in terms of tracking revenue correctly and not needing to find an additional vendor to process them. One system is better than many!

Having an Altru integrated gift card system would be efficient for staff and customers. Using a 3rd party gift card service adds equipment to the register area and customers are not able to use gift cards when purchasing online items.

Having an Altru integrated gift card system would be incredibly useful. Currently, we are using a separate vendor with a separate web portal and separate gift card terminals and utilizing the Other tender method. Not only cumbersome but also equipment heavy.

In 2021, there's really no reason not to have a gift card acceptance system. We're missing out on a massive revenue stream.

It's embarrassing to tell our patrons that our POS system doesn't accept gift cards. Please make this a priority! While I appreciate a good workaround, manually tracking a constituent's balance is cumbersome and prone to error.

Definitely this is a big missing piece of Altru. Selling gift cards as a merchandise item and then tracking balances on a spreadsheet (what we do now) is really clunky and prone to errors. Please implement true gift card sales and tracking as soon as possible.

I agree this is a huge piece missing from the altru software. Especially in this time when museum's are shut down and could use gift cards as a revenue source

The Children's Museum in West Hartford CT would love to see this too! We just converted over to use Altru in our gift shop and this is a huge feature missing from the merchandise platform!

Gift cards are something we've been using for years. We just went live with Altru on Jan. 21, 2020. So disappointed that we have to use a workaround with our previous gift card merchant to continue using gift cards.

The Ruth Bancroft Garden is switching from Clover to Altru. I am so disheartened that Altru does not have a gift card system in place. I understand that we can keep notes and view them in Daily sales but like others have said it will be cumbersome and time consuming. We would really love to see this rolled out. We sell a decent amount of gift cards here at the Garden. Please let me know if anyone has something better in place.
