Edit name formats: "use if previous or next entry blank"
When editing a name format, it would be really helpful to have "Use if previous or next entry is blank." For example, James may or may not have a nickname and it would be nice for it to correctly show up.

Yes! We ended up with a bunch of bad name formats when we tried to use nickname in the default formats. All the new constituents going into the system had blank nicknames and many probably still do since it's nearly impossible to cleanup old bad name formats without spending hundreds of hours going through record by record
