Quick field or report for most recent donation

Thanks for the clarification :)  Also, I think it would be great to have a quick option in query or a report that easily shows the most recent donation/pledge (not pledge payment) a donor has given. Maybe it could be a report where you choose a designation, time period, and selection from a query and have it show the payment date and amount.
