Is it possible to run the invite process for a special event and invite a person "and guest"?

I want to be able to account for total invited and some invitees who are single are receiving a "and guest" to their invite (sort of like a "plus 1"). I do this manually to their invitations since I can't figure out a way to add an unnamed guest to the invite process. I know afterwards when they register it is possible to include "unnamed guests", but I want to see beforehand how many possible people could attend.
