Prohibit constituent record from deletion where volunteer records are linked

We discovered last week that a constituent record was deleted and there were volunteer records tied to it. We are assuming the record was deleted accidentally. We now have notifications on those constituents that have volunteer records tied to them, but we would like to have an additional safeguard in place to prohibit the deletion of a constituent record that has volunteer records tied to it. Can this be added?
