Adding my frustration that this is STILL not a thing. I've been using Altru for 10 years at various organizations, and it is easily one of the biggest problems I have with it. And would be extremely helpful for many applications.
I know it's been 8 years since this idea was posted, but I would still love to see it implemented. We have an annual event with table and individual seat options. I have to do separate tracking in a spreadsheet to make sure we keep the online sales at the right capacity. This is a very basic functionality that Eventbrite and other free platforms offer, so why not Altru?
This seems like it would be a simple addition that would help a lot of Altru/BB customers. Please add it.
This seems like a pretty easy and common function that could be integrated into Altru. Would be of great benefit. :)
Frankly, this makes using the Webform functionality almost useless for my team as we have low inventory of certain types of tickets so they want to use a 3rd party product and am getting pushback from some users that we should move to a different platform altogether.
It's a little frustrating to see that this basic and heavily in-demand functionality has been up so long and isn't planned.
This has major revenue implications when so many events have tiered pricing structures. Closing general admission sales helps drive higher price point options.
YES! Please!
This is a necessity, period. Our organization relies on this functionality in Eventbrite very heavily and our ability to bring all programs into Altru is hindered by this issue.

Going on six years. Setting a capacity for the type is necessary for many events.
It's a shame to this functionality still not available. We also need to limit the capacity by ticket type for many of our programs for the same reasons listed in the comments.
This would be great for us as well. We need a way of offering capacity by ticket type ie: adult/child in our organization and a child must be linked to the parent so it has to be on the same registration page.
Bumping this item again. 200+ votes and 5 years old.
This would be great for us as well! We have an annual chalk contest where were have three different levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced). Now we have to watch registrations and take down a ticket option when that option fills up.
We have a bi-monthly event that needs capacity within an event managed by price type. This would be a huge help.
Just giving this a bump, because we could also use this capacity!
Because I still don't see a status for this idea, I am hopping back in here to mention that I am again setting up ticketing for an annual New Year's Eve event with tiered pricing options, and yet again I am having to set up three separate events because there is a specific capacity for each ticket type. Not to mention the frustration it causes us during the winter holidays when our staff have to watch these ticket sales like hawks so we can disable to web forms because special events allow people to purchase tickets beyond the capacity set for the event...
Yes, we have a limited number of Economic Accessibility tickets available, but I have to watch sales and manually disable after so many are sold (limited to 10% of all sales). It would be great if I could only allow so many for this particular type when I set up!the program.
I would like Altru to allow us to limit the amount of GA tickets sold online. We would like to cap at 30 online tickets and then refer guests to our group sales department for purchases of more than 30 tickets.
This would be great for us, as we set program capacity for some programs by number of children, but number of adults they bring doesn't matter. We need to know how many adults are coming for other reasons, so adding adults to the itinerary artificially restricts our booking capacity.
