Currently, Altru has two ways of editing the inventory of existing merchandise items:
Searching up an individual merchandise item, and from its page, selecting "Change inventory", which allows for multiple options, including "Adjust quantity", which then allows users to adjust the existing quantity via increments (ex: entering -2, which changes the existing quantity of 112 to 110).
From Merchandise Inventory Batch, adding a new batch from the template "Merchandise Physical Count Batch", which allows users to search up and add multiple merchandise items to a list, on which the quantities of each can be updated by entering a brand-new quantity that overrides the existing value once the batch is committed (ex: a new quantity of 110, which overrides the existing quantity of 112).
I am proposing a new way to update inventory, which is something of a combination of these two. This would come in the form of a new Merchandise Inventory Batch template that allows users to search up and add multiple items to the list, incrementally adjust the quantity of those items, and then commit that batch to update multiple inventories at the same time. This would be particularly helpful for our organization, as we are often having to adjust the quantity of many items at once, but are unable to use the "Merchandise Physical Count Batch" template described in Option 2 because items are actively selling at the same time, so directly setting a new count may lead to inaccuracies.
Thank you!
