Remove Fees for Members

Our understanding of transaction fees for online sales is that they cannot be adjusted for different constituent types, meaning that even if a member gets a free ticket, they still have to pay the fee (we'd love to be wrong!). It would be really great if somehow the system could tell that because they are a member, they don't have to pay fees on their free tickets.

We offer a free child under 5 ticket on our website that we do still want the transaction fee attached to (and have found in the past that people really don't abuse that privilege...) so it's not just about the zero dollar tickets.

Clearly the analyst who worte the specification has no concept of how to apply transaction fees. When you purchase something at a store and have a discount, do you pay sales tax on the undisoucounted amount? NO, you pay the tax on the final sales amount!!

I had a similar idea: https://altru.ideas.aha.io/ideas/ALTRU-I-2124 - Assuming the fee is percentage based - if the fee could be set to calculate on the net price of the item or cart, then the fee would be $0 for a $0 ticket / cart

    ***SHOULDN'T trigger a fee***

    ...see above.

Yes. This should absolutely be something that can be removed when linked to a program. We use the fee to offset the cost we are charged by the credit card processing company. If a member ticket costs $0.00, then there shouldn't be a credit card transaction, which means it should trigger a fee. It's absurd to ask a member to pay a fee for a free transaction. This should be remedied.
