Currently, in order to retain stored CC information when merging duplicate records, you must ensure that the record with CC information is the Target record. It would be great if merged records could retain the CC information regardless of which record is the Source vs Target. But if that's not possible, a happy-medium option would be for Altru to flag that a record has stored CC information before merging.
I propose a pop-up box to alert me that "One of the constituents you are attempting to merge has stored credit card information on file. Please ensure the constituent with the credit card information is the Target Constituent to avoid losing credit card information."
This would avoid the time spent checking every record I'm merging to see if they have a recurring gift or auto-renew membership on file.
