We have a patron that donated stock to pay for their event registration. Stock prices have fallen, so the total amount received after selling the stock is a little less than the original amount, and we want our records to reflect the actual amount paid, as well as the level at which they are attending.
This is also helpful in the case that an event sponsor donates an in-kind item or their valuable time in order to get a portion of their registration written off.
I hate to have to make a new event category for every single dollar point that has something like this occur!
