This is a very necessary update. I hope the ability to apply different discounts is made available soon. Having to include all of them as separate registration form options is clunky and confusing for people to navigate, let alone for staff to set up. I hope there is a resolution to this soon!
Not being able to apply a discount code for a special event causes so much confusion for our sponsors and partners. For some events, they have to email us, for some events they have to use a promo code because of the way registration must be set up for the event. Overall, this should not be an issue. Promo codes should be applicable to ALL online sales and registration.
I would like to be able to apply a discount. Basically, I need to be able to adjust the amount owed (which could be different for each company). It's not a percentage off necessarily or a fixed amount off. So some flexibility in how to apply the discount would be nice. Currently, I am just making a separate registration option for one company to use.
I agree this should be an option for all event types!
I don't even understand why adding a discount to a special event isn't a thing. All our members receive a discount on events.
We have set up our first special event in Altru and have run into this problem as well.
This would be greatly helpful as our sponsorships aren't always for the price set up in the event.
I am stuck with all kinds of outstanding balances on past special events because of this! One instance for example: someone reserved a table without having enough guests to fill the table, then later permitted individuals who had already paid separately to sit at their table. We had to do all kinds of craziness to try to consolidate the individual guests and the table, and ultimately gave up. The guest count is inaccurate because we can't mark the unnamed guests as not attending, and there is a balance outstanding we can't get rid of. For other events, we end up with about ten different pricing options, many of which we need for only one or two registrations. Having to clutter up the registration options table for this grinds my nerves. There is no flexibility here.

Thank you! How can there be a program that is a database of members not be able to have special event discounts for members?? Especially for such a large line item like fundraising and special events!
Agreed - we like to offer Board members discounts to events and don't want to have the "discounted price" available as an option. on the website; a code for the discount would be preferred.
This would be a great thing to have... especially if it used the login/member check like the program events do in the TICKET module of the system. We have member and non-member prices for all our fundraising events and it is a NIGHTMARE having to use the "honor" system and keep track of everything manually! please allow discounts and the member checks ASAP! thank you :)
