Automatic Reminder Emails to Event Registrants
I would like for event registrants to receive emails a set amount of time before their event happens. We have students registering for ongoing classes months ahead of time and then forgetting about their event, or remembering the wrong date/time. I would prefer that a reminder would automatically be sent to their email address on file about a week in advance. Our previous system allowed automatic reminders that sent with no manual work on our part.
I realize that I could pull a roster for the course and email each class individually. However, the option to email each course separately is very time consuming!! Some weeks we have 30 classes beginning, and I cannot take the time to email each course individually with their class specific information that applies only to that class.
Has Altru made any progress towards realizing this feature?
I'll second the comment about Social Good Software - they solve a lot of these headaches and its worth every penny!
Social Good Software is listening. They have a software solution, for a price, but it's worth it.

I see this idea with 207 votes and I'm wondering, what it takes for you to give it the attention it needs? If you have a reason why you wouldn't include this feature, please let us know! This would be a great selling point to all of your customers and somehow it's not there. You even have reminder options in other parts of Altru. Would really like to see a response about all of this. This seems like a basic function that Altru should allow its users. Emailing or calling participants individually to remind them about a class or to make a payment isn't practical when you're dealing with dozens of registrants on a daily basis.
Altru really needs to get with the times and offer this feature. Everybody sends reminders anymore, from the Dentist to a Fundraising Gala. We've even had a couple of constituents complain that they forgot because we didn't send a reminder.
When you begin on this greatly needed feature, please set it up to where we can turn reminder emails on or off at both the program level and event level for ALL scheduled and pre-registered programs regardless of sales method. The reminders should be customizable like the online acknowledgment emails.
I'm checking on this again because we really need this.
Please please create this functionality. My event staff are so dissapointed that this is not an option in Altru. When we adopted the software, we thought this would be an included defalut feature. The incredibly basic web platform we use handles this seamlessly, and I'm very surprised that there hasn't been more invested in adding this function.
Email marketing is such a critical outreach for any audience. When you all discuss the metrics of increased sales for those that adopt Altru, this is one feature Blackbaud could add that would translate directly into agregate stats that the company uses for its own sales and marketing.

I agree, can we have an update for this? I would like to see the functionality for both pre-registered programs and ticket sales.
If software/websites like Eventbrite can send multiple reminder emails automatically and have administrators adjust them, it is ludicrous that Blackbaud Altru does not have this functionality.
I would love an update on any progress made on this suggestion. We are literally spending hours a week sending reminder emails. With our huge virtual pivot, it is almost an essential need.
I voted on this years ago because we spend so much time sending reminder emails for camp, but it has really become an issue with virtual events. We've spent countless hours sending reminder emails to make sure that Zoom information is readily available for guests. I wanted this years ago, but I want it even more now. It's so necessary.
This would be very handy for virtual events... we could email the Zoom links to participants without having to go through a manual process. Also, many other registration systems offer a way to add the event to your personal calendar. It would be great if Altru could do this.
Is this request being reevaluated since so many people are using timed ticketing and doing virtual programs these days?
Would very much like to see this feature added. Attempted to use the "reminder" process to automate event registration reminders, but realized it would only work for paid events, not free events, since it uses a revenue query.
As we're now moving to timed ticket reservations due to COVID-19, this feature would be very, very helpful to our organization.
This is a very basic ticketing function that should be added.
Just to clarify, this feature would be great for both pre-registered program events AND the special fundraising events where you can send invitations. AND, even if this is not built out as something that happens automatically, just being able to more easily email event registrants from the program events and fundraising events would be huge!
