This would definitely be an improvement - having to create a new appeal mailing each month seems like a lot more work than just being able to run a reminders process, and would be great to be able to use the scheduler so it's one less process you have to manually generate each month. It also makes it much more complicated to pull the pledge details since you have to build from a constituent query and export, rather than being able to pull from a revenue query.
This seems like a really simple extension of the current functionality, not sure why this isn't already available or what the reason was for limiting to only past due payments. This is really important for donors who make annual payments to pledges.
I agree. I managed to set up an Appeal Mailing process with a query to search for all pledge payments due "next month" and merge them into a letter template, but it would be much easier if the existing Pledge Reminder system worked for this purpose.
Because we are not able to send out pledge reminders until after the date the payment is due, we have had to change all due dates so that the system will generate the reminders, which we then have to manually edit so that the dates are correct. The ability to run reminders 90-60-30 days before payment due date
