Have the Program Events features for registration questions extend to Fundraising Events - especially with Web Forms.
For some Fundraising Events, registrants may have comments they need to add to their registration. For example, our annual fundraising gala includes a sit-down dinner. So, a registrant may have specific requests for where they sit and what they eat. For example, John Smith may want to sit away from the band, and he is a vegetarian. I know we can set up registration questions for Programs and have people fill them out when they register online. It would be great if Fundraising Events could have the same ability - that way when someone registers for an event (and especially online) they can answer registration questions like food and seating options.
We want to be able to offer discounts to members (and since Altru doesn't allow you to create discount codes for fundraising events...grrrr) our solution would be to add a "Members" ticket price and add a required field where they have to add their membership number.
I have an event for which I need to know attendees organizational affiliation; and we can't use Altru to register for it because the program event forms won't let us ask that.
100% agree. The registration questions for program events are actually quite useful because they can be set up as drop-down lists, checkboxes, or free-text fields. However, the registration options for special/fundraising events can only be set up as drop-down lists. I am struggling to understand why these two features aren't identical.
For both special events and pre-registered events, a column field that you could choose to have show beside the registrant's name would be extremely helpful, particularly in classes involving children. Being able to quickly glance down the list and see things from allergies to whose parents do not want them to have their picture taken to a certain person who can not pick them up is important. We can put that under attributes, but then you have to be looking for it. For adult events it would be more a matter of "Don't mention a certain business" or "don't sit near their ex." Both of which could affect future donations!
