Our guests do not like that they have to re-enter all of their data to renew a membership. I get several emails/calls from members (or gift givers) who ask if they use the membership ordering system will it link up to current memberships. Even if they use the Register/Log in, they use it so rarely that they do not remember that they have logged in before.
I would like to have a ink that can be used to create a renew button on our membership page to avoid creating duplicate memberships and having to manually merge them. I have seen renew buttons on other website so there has to be a way to get this done.
Members that log in/register continue to be confused as to whether they just renewed their membership or created an entirely new membership for themselves. Adding language to clarify Renew or Join and also adding a confirmation of their expiration date would be very helpful. We keep getting members calling to double check what happened online. In addition, could you consider making the register, sign in links more prominent on the site? Members keep missing it. Thank you!
It would be great to have an auto-renewal option for online memberships. We get quite a few requests for this option. Now if someone wants this option they have to call the museum because Altru does not have it.
We would like for members to see their membership level and expiration date once they login and it would be nice if it would then give them the option to "renew". We get many questions and emails of concerned members that they purchased a new membership instead of renewing their original one.
This should include the ability to change/reset password, get notifications (on back end) for errors and general registration help. There is currently no functionality, but all members are required to register in the system for a smoother purchase. The two are not mutually exclusive. If it's a requirement (with the alternative of creating duplicate records), then the system should work. H&M has better functionality for registering customers.

I would like to see a separate "log in/register" URL that we could link to from our organization's website. Many people miss the log in button in the corner and end up calling us when they don't get their membership discount. A separate page would make this process a lot clearer to the constituent. Another option would be to block out member prices until the member is logged in. See the Denver Botanic Gardens website for an example:http://catalog.botanicgardens.org/Selection.aspx?sch=70188 . Once a constituent is logged in, it would be nice for the screen to look a bit different and to start with membership information such as level and expiration date. It should be clear whether a member is purchasing a new membership or renewing an old one.
I'd definitely like to see this improved. We are a new site (launched July 1st) and right now although the renewal letter link seems to be an ok method to allow members to renew, we suspect that many members will just go straight to our webiste to renew rather than following the link in their e-mail. Although technically someone can use this format to renew their membership, it is not clear to the member at all. Even if you do get them to register, and then match up their constituent record to the webforms record, it still looks like they are buying a new membership, rather than renewing their current membership. I would like to see an entirely different webform page for renewals that provided the members current status (active or lapsed) and their renewal date, as well as clearly indicating that they were renewing a current or lapsed membership.
We have had a rough transition to Altru membership webforms.
it would be helpful if the member's expiration date was visible.
it would also be helpful to have the membership early-renewal promotions automatic. We give an extra month to those that renew early, and it would be preferred if this was automatic in daily sales, back of house, and online.
I hate how often the renewals don't match up because they use a slight variation of their address!

Members need to be able to enter their membership ID to renew, as well as update contact info through website registration.

YES! See my Idea post: https://altru.ideas.aha.io/ideas/ALTRU-I-1462 and vote for it if you agree.

I always get asked why they can't just enter their ID number since it's unique to their account.

We would like to see improved renewal process for members. It would be great to have a auto-renewal option for families.
