Apply online donation to existing pledge

The ability to apply an online donation to an existing pledge is very much needed.  The current work around (refunding to another  payment type and then re-entering the gift) is very messy.

I cannot vote for this enough!! This seriously needs to be addressed as more and more folks are just making payments/donations online rather than sending in checks/cc info to be processed in the back office.

Someone else suggested this in 2016 and that was marked as "Reviewed"... I really hope that means that BB will address this soon.

This would be GAME CHANGING - please consider this option! Refunding to "other" and re-processing the payment is messy and makes reporting/exporting revenue a nightmare.

This really needs to be a functionality. More people are donating online and having to direct donors to call to pay off pledges through credit card is not feasible when they will just find your webforms online and pay that way instead. Having to "refund" the payment is messy for both the Development and Finance departments when using the GL posting functionality.

Great suggestion. Such an obvious need.

But I don't have much hope for this as I look through the Ideas forum. This has only been sitting here for two years. It's probably got another three or four years to go before it gets reviewed. I hate to be snarky like that. But that's just my honest thought as I read this post.

Totally agree! This is a real oversight on the developer's part. Most people make payments for almost everything electronically nowadays. Help us out, Blackbaud!
