We value your unique insight into our products and services and often receive ideas and feedback from our community in a variety of ways. To streamline this process, we’ve created an idea bank where you can post product suggestions, vote for those most important to you, and add comments to existing ideas.
Hi Jillian - this is great. I like the it reads that you are buying a membership and lets you then buy member-only tours. One question though, if someone buys Tour A and then "continues shopping" to Tour B but then decides that times don't work for them, how can they get back to the shopping cart? We can only see that to get back to the cart is that they have to select Tour B and then remove it from the cart.
Thank you for all of the feedback! We are excited to be introducing this functionality in our October release. After your organization is upgraded, you will have the ability to enable a Continue Shopping button and choose whether to redirect patrons to the web form page they were on before checkout, or to a specific URL on your website.
We hope that this new feature will help make the online experience a little smoother for your visitors, and we continue to welcome any additional feedback you may have!
Hello Jillian!
How is Blackbaud doing on the roll-out of this idea? This is a very basic functionality for Altru not to have it already.
Will this work for memberships as well? We need for folks to be able to purchase multiple memberships in one transaction.
Wonderful! This is something much needed and an item most guests wish we had available.
I saw some others with similar feedback, but as an agreement, it would be great if we could set the URL to return to a specific web page on our website.
In an ideal world, if Altru developed a page in conjunction with this idea that shows a calendar or an organized list (program types & alphabetically by program title) of all the active programs an organization has, that would be the most helpful. (Altru sort of has this list view going through a generic tickets page, but it is not organized in any fashion and includes all web form information, which clutters up the page.)
I really like this idea. It would be great if we could set the url to where direct guests would land after clicking “continue shopping”, with a default incase no alternative is set.
For example, the default could be the institution’s home page or events page (as determined by the institution). But for membership purchases it might make sense to direct back to the membership page or events page, if shopping summer camps have it direct back to the summer camp page or other kids programs page, etc. Leaving it flexible for institutions to customize the experience, while having a default in case someone forgets to customize or there isn’t a clear place to send the shopper back to. Hope that makes sense!

Glad to see this has moved to "Planned"!
Great to hear that this feature is planned. When can we expect to see this new feature in Altru?
Hi Julian,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this (I only work Monday’s and Tuesday’s!)
Upon clicking a "Continue Shopping" button, we would you expect that the customer be taken to a specific page/URL that we have configured on the back-end.
Maybe the system default setting is the company (our) main website page – which we can then customize behind the scenes if we want to point to a specific webpage/URL. This would allow flexibility for each of your Blackbaud customers whilst giving us flexibility as the customer and ease of use/shopping for the end user ☺
Thanks,
Angela

I would like the Continue Shopping button to direct visitors to a URL that has a list (with calendar view, if we're wishing) of all active events. Right now, many places I've worked with create a webpage with all events and direct their work-around in-the-footer-button to that page.
Hello!
A “Continue Shopping” button should redirect patrons to a landing page with a list of all events plus their respective “Tickets” buttons. Ideally the landing page will be built by Blackbaud. Our previous system had a landing page and we were very disappointed when we learned Altru did not have it. Our current work-around is an “Add Tickets” link on the Altru wrapper that redirects patrons to our website. This is very clunky because patrons have to fish through the website again to find other events they want to buy tickets for. With a landing page it will be easier to browse events and add tickets to the basket.
I would like to be able to configure the url based on the webform that they are using. For instance, if they are filling out a web form for camp registrations then I would like them to return to the camp sessions web page so they can continue to register for more camp sessions.
Hi everyone,
We are evaluating this idea and would love to hear your feedback around where your patrons would expect to be redirected to upon clicking a "Continue Shopping" button. For example, would you expect that they be taken to a specific page/URL that you've configured on the back-end, or would they simply be returned to whichever Altru web form they were most recently on? Or, something else?
Please send any thoughts/feedback to jillian.lewis@blackbaud.com. Thanks for your time!
Would want this on all Altru related webpages! either back or continue shopping depending on the page. We have had a few issues... people get confused, pay for one item, then do a separate transaction for another...then loose interest, we have lost sales because of not being more user friendly :(
Altru say put a Cart "link" so the patron can go back and make another selection to continue shopping but it is very confusing for the patron and not intuitive for ANYONE who does online shopping/purchases. Why wouldn't a patron think they can't click off the page safely? It definitely needs to be a better interface to help the end user.
Will this work for memberships as well?
Is there a way to do this for memberships? We are looking to have one gift giver have the ability to purchase three to four memberships at a time.
Did you find a solution to this? I completely agree.. its very confusing!
If this is an available add-on, does that mean Altru can enable this per an organization's request? If this is true, Davis Arts Center would love to have this add-on! The online registration system is not intuitive and often confuses our patrons. It proves to be a very frustrating process for every event.
This is currently an available add-on
