Membership expiration date merge field in acknowledgement letters

I would like to be able to use the membership expiration date merge field when a customer purchases or renews a membership online. Currently I can only use the receipt grid and that only shows the term of the membership. This date works for new members, but not for renewing members who's expiration date is not 1 year from the purchase date. Either allow us to edit the receipt grid, or add this merge field to the acknowledgement email.

    This is also something I need, and seems so simple. I am disappointed to see that this idea was posted 5 years ago and is still an issue! Our membership cards that we give to members do not have expiration dates because they are meant to be re-used, but members are always asking us when their membership expires.

    I ran into this while setting up membership acknowledgement letters. We get a lot of members who renew early and have an expiration date that's not necessarily 1 year out. It would be great to have a field for their expiration date!
