Altru Ideas

Fix the search bar

Please revert back to the old search bar. The Altru update has made search very inconveinient. We access constituents all day long. That's the point in the program. The old way was the right way. We don't care about pretty, we care about functionality. We need search to be open at the top of the screen and it shouldn't hide while we are typing.

I agree. The search bar should NOT be a drop down. It should be a constant, always-visible part of the top menu bar. I search for many constituents every day, and it is cumbersome to have to click the icon first every single time.

I completely agree. The text box should be open at the top of the screen, not disappear mid-type, and should remove the old search text after the search is done.

Altru is maddeningly slow to add useful features.

Taking away an existing useful feature is infuriating.

I use the search bar more than any other feature - so make it more obvious.

I know I have already commented on this but I'm doing it again. Software compaies like to do flashy updates that mean nothing (Intuit is famous for this) to "justify" higher pricing. Your developers have and obligation to pay more attention to those of us in the trenches, (who PAY their salaries), and who USE this on a daily basis. It is your job to make the program better for US - not for your aesthetics.

There has been multiple entries for this need to revert back to the former search block for constituent search - asking Altru reviewers to please combine the votes as the new search function is obnoxious - especially as it disappears when we are typing too.

At the very least, please have the search field clear out the previous search text each time. That way users won't have to select and delete the previous search parameters just to perform a new search.

Please, please, PLEASE remove this ridiculous update. It is NOT an improvement by any stretch of the imagination.

Agree with all comments - slows things down too much!

Agree with all comments - terrible change. Makes it VERY difficult to search for constituents. Adding constituents is now a much more cumbersome task. Who thought this was a good idea?? Really??? Bad design move.

I vote to revert back to the old search bar. Having the search which is the starting point for most functions hidden behind an icon and the extra click needed to access it is not helpful. Additionally, the search bar holds info so you have to delete the previous info which is nothing but a time suck. Have the search bar open and at the top and program it properly so it doesnt keep past search info.

    Pointless, frustrating change.

Agree! The search function disappears sometimes when I am actively searching and makes it frustrating when you are having to look up many constituents a day.

Super disruptive and not helpful. Please bring back the original search function at the top left of of the interface.

Yes! This hidden field is entirely unhelpful, but also causes problems (not being able to check for typos or sometimes the field just doesn't show).
