In the Marketing tab, there is a place to format eblasts: the two types are membership and direct marketing. Yet the direct marketing one can only be for fundraising events. Renaming this would prevent those sending more general eblasts from wasting time.
Any other eblasts need to be done in appeal. I wish that a true direct marketing eblast would be possible as often I don't need to add merge fields or use an address processing option or name format option in my eblasts, so the functionality of appeal is more than I need and it requires extra steps.
