Discounts apply to the scheduled date, not just date of purchase.

We presell scheduled event tickets for general admission. It would be great to have a discount that can only be applied if the date of the scheduled ticket is in a specific range or the ability to choose a weekday/weekend in a specific range. The only workaround is to do onsite discounting only in these specific situations.
