This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Things to do for the gift membership custom message field.The custom message field now available for gift memberships is great. However, there's still a bit to do in order for it to be full functional:
- Make the new GiftMessage field available in the header file. We run our letters through Altru and there's no way to add the new field to those letters. There are two options: (1) export the data and do the mail merge through MS Word; or (2) manually edit the letters that are created in Altru. We've chosen to go with option #2 and set up a query to show any custom messages and then add those messages to the Word document after it's been created. We just have to remember to check the query prior to running letters each time.
- Provide the ability to add a custom gift message from the back office or through Daily Sales. Right now it's only available via online purchases.
- This is very minor and picky, but the Gift Message field is misaligned:

I take a lot of gift memberships over the phone. I would love to be able to enter the gift message back office without having to go back and edit each constituent after processing.
I would also like to have a field for delivery in addition to gift recipient and purchaser. I would like an "In Person" or "Picking up" so we coudl easily know not to mail those.
