I was surprised to see I couldn't use a Combination Discount for Online sales. This prevented me from being able to package a group of unrelated Program event tickets (workshop classes) together into a discounted "bundle" online.
The "bundle" is only a marketing term. How it works is: The patron gets the online "bundle" price (total price) only if the patron buys at least one ticket for each of the four Program event tickets (workshop classes) being offered. If the patron selects at least one ticket for each event, all tickets are discounted --they get the "bundle" price.
It seems this couldn't be done with the Ticket and merchandise discounts online because each ticket is for a different Program --the discount would need to apply across multiple programs, which can be done with Combinations.
Does that make sense? I thought I could just choose to not limit the discount to the event or program (i.e., no restriction), potentially allowing this to span Programs, but that's not an option (as the Helps docs say) on the "Add discount requiring a purchase" window, under "Limit discount to" (see attached images).
They set our senior memberships up as discounts instead of price line items so now they can't use anything on top of that, making it so if I run any promotions, they have to pick one discount or the other.
We would like to offer a discount on a combo if you buy 2 adult tickets and 2 child tickets. Discounts on combos would be a big help!
