Google Analytics Tracking w. Altru
Does Altru automatically track analytics and impressions of purchase tickets, donate, and Membership pages I set up through Altru? Is there a google analytics page associated with my Altru account? And can I link my Altru account analytics to the Google Analytics of my organization's website? And if so, how?
Hi everyone,
This feature is available. Here is the article with information on how to get this set up. If you need Blackbaud to set this up for you, please reach out to your account executive to learn more about that billable service.

This is still entirely necessary. How is it possible that this isn't a thing yet?!

Confirming that this feature is still sorely missed in 2021. It's been five years. Your other products make Google Analytics integration easy. Why no love for Altru?

I'm seriously blown away that any cart/ecomm software doesn't offer direct integration of Google Analytics, let alone Google Tag Manager. It's 2020. I'm not seeing any transaction data being pushed to the data layer...any insight would be beneficial.

The article referenced on 9/20/19 will not help. When using the page designer and editing HTML code in Altru (regardless of header or footer), it will take the <script> tag and include in a <div> which renders everything useless for google tags.

Looks like Blackbaud has integrated Google Analytics into its Luminate product:

Why can't we have this functionality in Altru???

Google Analytics has been tested with Altru websites, and confirmed that this is able to be added to track website traffic. To add Google Analytics code to your Altru website, follow the steps in this article:

Disclaimer: This article assumes you are familiar with HTML/CSS/JavaScript and the tools used to create and modify this code. Blackbaud Customer Support may help explain where the code should live in the product, but we will not modify or assist you with modifying or troubleshooting these examples.
Note: Google Tag Manager for e-commerce conversion tracking and Google Adwords have not been tested within Altru, however you can add the code provided by Google in Altru by following the same steps above. Blackbaud also offers paid services to set up Google Analytics, Google Tag for e-commerce conversion tracking, and Google Adwords. If you are interested in these services, please contact your Account Executive.

Any update on this, Altru?

I'm trying to subscribe, but the button is nonfunctional. Not unexpected given other issues with Altru.
This is an important bit of usability, and Altru is way behind the times for not giving me analytics. You're making me choose between directing people to a landing page on my website which I can track, and a more direct path to make a purchase which I can't track. Bad move.

This is very important to gaining even the most basic insights into the success of a marketing campaign.

So this was reviewed and what's the update? Thank you!

This is the main reason I fought getting Altru in the first place. For me it provided no marketing tool that I needed. I send emails through my website company because the branding is better. I can watch on a map as people open it. Not being able track the full purchase process is killing us. Our ads are generating a lot of clicks but once they get to Altru I have no idea what is happening to them.

It seems Google Tag Manager might be a viable way to track eCommerce analytics. I'm just chipping at the tip the iceberg right now, but I was able to track "Add to Cart" clicks and assign the "Event Title" to it using Tag variable. I'm still fresh on GTM implementation, but it's an amazingly powerful resource, and the DOM elements on Altru's web templates contain a wealth of Element IDs that can be passed along to Google Analytics via Tags.

Is there any update on this? I am unsure how we can track which online sales came from our calendar vs email vs outside source... We also use Google Analytics for our website. Thanks!

Is there any work around for adding our google analytics code to online membership and donation forms. At one point I thought that was an option to add code to forms, that would than have to added again after form updates.
