There should be a way to change Name Formats to already existing constituents

I came to my organization about a year after they switched to Altru. Until me they didn't have a full time data base coordinator and did not configure name formats how they should have before transitioning over to Altru. Now I have 10,000 plus records that need to have Name Formats added to their record and have to do it manually. We should be able to use global change to apply Name Formats to existing records in the system.

Completely agree. I've been working on manually editing name formats every day for years. I update whoever engaged with the museum by donating/renewing/registering for something on any given day. It's incredibly arduous. Every mass mailing still goes out with uncorrected names, but at least the number of them is decreasing over time.

I have almost the same problem. I would just like to be able to globally change an old, no longer used format to a new name format. Most of the different name formats from our old system would actually all fit in the same name format field if entered in Altru correctly. To make these uniform, we have to change them one at a time.

YES! One of those things you can do in Raiser's Edge that you can't do in Altru. Altru in general is a less "forgiving" system than Raiser's Edge and every time I try to make a global change, things are rough.
