Altru Ideas

As we move forward past implementation and into data mining with Altru, what we have found in our case is that we have lost alot of reporting and data mining capabilities from Raiser's Edge. Not only is much of the functionality from Raiser's Edge lost, but Crystal Reporting tools are no longer available and we are left with basic queries that don't even create subtotals or totals and remove the ability to join tables properly - so that you end up with duplicates that render results useless.



We are finding that almost everything we need to get out of Altru requires a query because the standard reports are too basic, don't hyperlink to details, or are too summarized. Sometimes the reports almost have what we need, but are missing something as simple as a filter to make it efficient to use and review. We were told when we bought the software that Altru would simplify and have excellent robust reporting so that the canned reports would be useful to all. Not happening.



We have done some research of other cloud-based software environments, and we have found that many of them allow for query sharing among users, because everyone is using essentially the same platform.



It would be great if Altru would create a user library of queries for everyone to share. Most likely if we are creating a query because Altru doesn't have adequate canned reports, everyone else is in the same boat or will be as soon as they discover that Altru isn't meeting their reporting needs.



We would love for Blackbaud to consider allowing us to share queries.
