Altru Ideas

Restrictions for Membership Promotions

We offer a 20% discount for our lowest standard membership levels. This causes issues at many points:

First, we have a very rotating front-desk staff, and new staff will often incorrectly apply this discount to higher levels, because they're still learning.

Second, if someone does have an eligible membership but also wants to add, say, our music membership, Daily Sales automatically takes 20% off of every membership, even though we do not want the music membership to receive this discount. The solution would be to make it two transactions, but this would take extra time for the customer (and how do you explain you have to split the transaction so you don't save them money?), and again, we often have new staff at the front desk who do not realize the discount is doing something it shouldn't.

Lastly, we offer promotions online many times a year, but always get someone who uses the code at an 'ineligible' level, as Altru has no way to stop them. We emailed you a code for 20% off your $60 membership, but if you upgrade to $1,000 it'll work there too!

Therefore, the option to limit Membership Promotions to specific programs and levels would be very valuable for us to stop losing revenue. We sometimes lose hundreds of dollars on a single transaction because Altru has no way of stopping these discounts from being applied where we don't want them.

We also have a subscription program running through Membership and we'd like to offer discounts to members. Wish we could be sure it was only used on the appropriate membership program and not accidentally used to discount our primary membership program.
