We wamted to offer a $100 membership to the first 100 for our 100th birthday. Unfortunately, the only way to do the discount is across the board, so all the other levels would also get $19 off of their memberships if we did this. We will have to manually go in and change the price of that membership level to $100 and change it back when we get about 100 (because you also can't limit the quantity.)
To clarify, this suggestion is about membership promotions... i.e. discounts on the membership itself, not ticket and merchandise discounts. For some reason, you can set all kinds of specifications around discounts for tickets and merch, but not for the memberships themselves. Membership promotions apply to all programs and levels and can't be restricted. The only restriction option is for new auto-renew memberships to get a 1-time discount, but we aren't even using that feature yet.
This is especially important for webforms! We want to make our membership discounts available online but they are only available to our first four levels. I'm afraid someone will apply the discount code to higher level memberships.
