Acknowledgment letters are not easy to set up, especially if you are not familiar with HTML coding--probably the bulk of your Altru users.
We've been working in Altru for more than 4 years now and I continue to struggle with the HTML formatting, especially when I need to revise for new letterhead or special paper with a space meant for a member card or a coupon. Setup requires an inordinate amount of time and testing and creative work-arounds. For example, there's no easy way to do columns. I have found that tables eventually do what I need but tables are complicated and can be extremely deceptive when setting up.
You might suggest that I should use the Word Preview button. It doesn't work. I have printed the Preview, fixed the letter, and run - and my fix doesn't mirror the Preview. I have found this especially when using tables.
In order to test a letter to ensure it outputs correctly into Word, I have to run the acknowledgment, fix, clear, run again so many times. I have literally spent HOURS setting up letters.
Why can't we just set up our letters in WORD especially since that is how they output?
